The ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is rounding the social media recently for roping in his known actor of choice, Vivek Oberoi for his next. This would be the sixth time collaboration between the Vivek and RGV. Titled as Rai, the film is loosely based on the Bangalore based underworld don Muthappa Rai.
He was known as the Godfather of Bangalore and was also currently reported to have renounced violence. RGV is notable for making sensitive & controversial films who shares that Rai is no way comparable to other gangster films based on Pablo Escobar, Dawood Ibrahim and Al Capone.
The first look poster will be released on May 1 on the maverick’s birthday from the hands of Muthappa Rai himself who had given him permission to make a movie on him. It is said to be the greatest gangster story ever made in Indian cinema. The director was actually keen on making the film with actor Sudeep but moved on with Vivek.
Rai is reported to be a multilingual film made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Kannada producer CR Manohar will be producing this gangster thriller. The shooting is likely to take place at Mangalore, Bengaluru, Mumbai and some foreign locations at Dubai and London.
