The Telugu movie Siva that was released in 1989 starring the couple Nagarjuna & Amala has done an excellent business. It was remade in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and was even premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival in 1990. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the story ran around student politics combined with the mafia background.
After 25 years, the buzz is coming around that it is going to be made a sequel with the same pair. Their sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil are also likely to get a chance in it. The hero has opened few words that the sequel will have a story like he and Amala having two sons.
Nagarjuna is working seriously on the script to make it a family film and even spoke to Ram Gopal Varma about the same. RGV had made a prequel to his Telugu Siva in Hindi in 2006 featuring Mohit Ahlawat. Though it did not hit the box office, it reached New York Asian Film Festival for screening. Now whether the idea of sequel will work out or not rests in his hands.
