Amala Paul, Revathi and Samuthirakani starrer Amma Kanakku has been initially slated to hit the screens on June 17. But due to unknown reasons, the makers have postponed the release date to June 24, the next weekend. Directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, the movie is much expected among the movie buffs since it's success in Bollywood.
Being the remake from Hindi film, Nil Battey Sannata, the same emotional relationship between mother and daughter is expected to work out on screen between Amala Paul and Revathi. The trailer of the film was unveiled on June 8 and Amala Paul who reprised the role played by Swara Bhaskar shone in her character. Samuthirakani will be seen as the school principal in the family drama.
The movie’s plot runs around the caring mother struggling for her daughter who is not interested in school studies. Ilaiyaraaja has composed tunes for this flick. June 17 has two other releases, G.V.Prakash Kumar’s Enakku Innoru Peru Irukku and Sundar C’s Muthina Kathrikai. Both are comedy entertainers and June 24 also has the release of Santhanam's horror comedy Dhilluku Thuttu.
