Amma kanakku

The Tamil remake of the Hindi film Nil Battey Sannata which was directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari is geared to finally hit the screens on June 17. Ashwini has helmed the Tamil version too under the title ‘Amma Kanakku’ with Revathi, Amala Paul and Samuthirakani in the leading roles. This movie had been a hit in Hindi and had gone places like screening at the London Film Festival.

It was Dhanush who had persuaded the director in bringing her to Chennai to remake the film after having impressed by watching the trailer. This mother sentiment film is jointly produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Anand L.Rai under Colour Yellow Pictures. It was a quick one with the shooting started in January month and completed by the end of February being ready to hit the screens within 6 months.

Isaignani Ilayaraja has scored the tunes and the camera was handled by Gavemic U Ary. This content oriented film has Amala Paul in the major role and will be seen in a de glam avatar. This is her first film in the female lead after her marriage with director A.L.Vijay. Hope Amma Kanakku also finds good recognition like Visaranai which was also produced under Wunderbar Films.
