Kangana Ranaut

Kangna Ranaut who is recently called as the Queen heroine of Bollywood is going to act as the leading lady in the biopic of Rani Lakshmibai. Directed by Ketan Mehta, the movie will focus on the real life of the struggle between the queen and the British before India’s Independence. Kangna is all ready to play the warrior as well as the mother role in this movie and had started learning horse-riding and sword-fighting.

Kangna seems to have taken many challenging roles in this year and excited on taking the same. She is also simultaneously doing a history epic ‘Rangoon’ showing the World War in 1940 and ‘Simran’ where she does a bank robbery. The makers are in talks with the Hollywood actor Hugh Grant to play the role of General Hugh Rose who was the opponent during the war fought by Jhansi Ki Rani.

The director wants to make the biopics as a trilogy of ‘The Rising’ where his Mangal Pandey starring Aamir Khan was the first and Rani Lakshmibai would be the second. The movie will be shot from 2016 and will be made in Hindi as well as in English.
