Baahubali, the magnum opus by Rajamouli is said to bag the name of fastest 100 crore grossing movie worldwide. Made with a budget of 250 crores, the first day collection hit 60 to 70 crores and the weekend collection with 135 crores. The Hindi version gave an income of 5.15 crores, the highest for a dubbed movie on the first day. It did not stop with it and went to 40% growth in second day with 12.24 crores.
It has surpassed all the Bollywood star movies, Happy New Year (42 crores), Dhoom 3 (32 crores), Singham Returns (31.8 crores), Ek Tha Tiger (30.3 crores), Bang Bang (28 crore), Kick (26 crore), etc., in a week. Aamir Khan's PK has collected $ 3.1 million in its first weekend in US. Baahubali has already crossed $ 2 million in two days of its release.
With all the film critics and others in the industry lauding Rajamouli, the movie has got an IMDb of 9.4, the highest rated Indian movie in the database while the distributors and producers are on cloud nine. The movie had also made the world to look back at the Telugu cine industry.
