Mani Ratnam’s movies, Roja, Bombay and Dil Se are to be screened at the Museum of the Moving Image at New York during July 31 to August 2. The experts at the museum have even named this series of films as ‘Politics as spectacle: The films of Mani Ratnam’. They had also flattered him as the the rarest of film directors who is capable of creating exquisitely crafted, intelligence provoking movies of all time.
Richard Pena, Director of New York Film Festival added that this tribute is long overdue and Mani Ratnam has the capacity to combine the political as well as the entertainment aspects easily. The museum's Deputy Director said that this offers audiences a rare opportunity to see his films on the big screen.
This museum has also hosted A.R.Rahman’s Jai Ho and honoured veteran actor Om Puri for his contribution to cinema previously. What an honour to the Chennai based director worldwide !
