Chennai High court ordered the Tamil Nadu government to move Sivaji statue in Chennai Kamarajar Salai to his manimandabam which being built. FEFSI Leader Selvamani, Directors association leader Vikraman and many Tamil film fretenity members held a press meets for addressing a requisition to the government regarding Sivaji statue issue. RK Selvamani told to the press,
“The Tamil Nadu government is shifting Nadigar thilagam Sivaji’s statue on Chennai High court orders, there are other leader statues in the same place but only Sivaji statue is being removed from there. Sivaji Ganesan who born and bred in this soil, he has been people’s hero and have stolen every Tamils heart. So, considering his glory a statue of his should be placed again in the Marina and we request the TN government for it.
The Chennai high court asked the TN government to remove the statue as it becomes a reason for accidents and inconvenience to the riders. So, TN government should choose a better place at the same place where it won’t be a hindarance to any one. I request this in behalf of all the Tamils.” He said.
Director Seeman, Vikraman, Perarasu, RV Udhayakumar, Abirami Ramanathan and SA Rajkumar also voiced their opinions about this in the press meet.
