Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' is emerging as the most controversial Bollywood film at present. A few days back, the film was sent to the censor board and CBFC board ordered to edit 48 scenes from the film. The team then met the CBFC officials yesterday (August 3rd) seeking for details about the cuts.
Speaking to the media a few hours back, Shroff, the producer of the film explained her conversation with the officials. She said "We demanded a justification from the officials for ordering 48 cuts despite giving it an 'A' certificate, but the officials replied, that these days even kids also watch 'A' certified films and the makers should be chopping all the sex scenes from the film. The explanations from the officials made no sense to me. In the midst of such arguments, an official asked me, how can I take such film being a woman? Another official commented, the reason for me to make such films is becauseI'm wearing a shirt and a pant.
Though she was expecting sensible explanations, the answers by the officials made me more annoyed, but I still kept quiet. These are shameless comments about me and I have requested the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to sack the two officials on immediate grounds. The film will not have any cuts as ordered by CBFC and we will now be heading to Film Certification Appellate Tribunal for Censor process and believe that they would watch the film the way, our team has made it"
