The latest allegation is made by the family of late actor Kalabhavan Mani, linking Dileep with Mani's death. It was director Baiju Kottarakkara who first hinted that Dileep might be involved in Mani's death. RLV Ramakrishnan, Kalabhavan Mani's brother has now asked CBI to investigate the financial transactions that his brother had with Dileep.
Baiju Kottarakkara said that he received information on Dileep's land deals with Mani from a woman who phoned him from Kozhikode. The woman, who Baiju believes to be a part of the industry, claimed that a dispute regarding the land deals led to Mani's death. Baiju has handed over the recorded conversation to the CBI team.
Meanwhile, the CBI maintains that the authenticity of the allegations is being scrutinized. Kalabhavan Mani was found unconscious at Chalakkudy last year and fighting for his life under mysterious circumstances. He passed away on March 6, 2016. The police registered the case as unnatural death due to the presence of excessive methyl alcohol with acetaminophen. The CBI had taken over the case in May 2017.
