Starting the career from Kollywood, AR Rahman has entered the Hollywood world and has bagged double Oscar awards in 2009. Now his name is once again in the list of Oscars 2016 under the 'Original Score' category.
The 2016 biographical drama 'Pele: The Birth of a Legend' had the scoring of the ace music director in which a single track ‘Ginga’ has been identified as the top contender among the list if 91 songs for the year’s Academy Awards.
The movie is said to revolve around a football player based out of Brazil and Rahman's tunes are the source of soul to the film. In 2009, he won two Oscars for Best Original Score in Slumdog Millionaire and Best Original Song for Jai Ho in it.
He is said to have surpassed 145 competitors among the previous list and is sure to bag the Award time time too. The list of nominees with his name was announced on December 13 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The 89th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 26 at the Dolby Theatre of Hollywood and Highland center with its winners announcement on January 24.
