Silambarasan's much awaited Achcham Enbathu Madamaiyada has finally opened to screens on November 11 and has created new records. AYM became the highest opening film for Simbu in his career hitting more than 600 screens in and around Tamil Nadu. There seems to be 95% occupancy in the theatres and had 511 shows across 23 cinemas in the weekend.
The first day collection in Chennai alone stood for 65 Lakhs and became the third biggest opener next to Superstar’s Kabali and Ilayathalapathy’s Theri for this year. In overall Tamil Nadu, it has garnered around 12 crores despite the currency problem prevailing at present. The break up digits approximately for Chennai alone is 2.1 crores, in Chengalpet districts it is 3.8 crores and in Coimbatore it is 2 crores.
Not to mention these numbers are only for the past 3 day weekend and they are expected to go up in the forthcoming week. Thanks to the STR-GVM duo along with the fresh face of Manjima Mohan and indeed the charming music composed by Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman which made the audiences stick to their seats.
