Pulimurugan starring Mohanlal released on 7th October with a grand opening collection of 4 crores. Within a span of 30 days, the movie is said to have grossed 100 crores at the box office. In history, it is the first Malayalam film to enter the 100 crore club. The excited actor had tweeted the same thanking his ardent fans for providing him with the success.

This action adventure also holds the fame for being the first Malayalam film to have the highest opening day collection and the second highest opening for any language film in Kerala next to Kabali. Directed by Vysakh and produced by Mulakupadam Films, the movie has Kamalinee Mukherjee playing the leading lady as Mohanlal's wife.

The supporting cast has Tollywood actor Jagapati Babu, Lal, Namitha, Vinu Mohan, Bala and others. The shooting took place covering the forest regions in Kerala, Vietnam, South Africa and Thailand with a budget of 25 crores. Hats off to the team for garnering more than 4 times the investment in a month's time.
