Nivin Pauly who is making his first direct Tamil film has wrapped up its shooting a while back. Directed by newcomer Gautham Ramachandran, it is the official remake of the Kannada crime drama Ulidavaru Kandante. The Tamil title has not yet been revealed and will be announced along with first look teaser shortly.
The shooting ran at the coastal regions of Manapad near Thoothukudi with Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath playing the female lead. Tentatively known as Santa Maria, the supporting cast consists of Prakash Raj, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Ashok Selvan, Elango Kumaravel, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Natarajan aka Natty with veteran producer and the father of actor Vishal playing a pivotal role.
Music has been rendered by the Kannada composer Ajaneesh Lokanath who scored the original tunes in the Kannada version while the camera was handled by Pandikumar. Apart from this flick, Nivin has two other projects in Tamil, one to be produced by Theri director Atlee and the other by the Remo maker RD Raja of 24 AM Studios.
