Actor Kathir of Kirumi fame has signed a new film recently with debut director Naveen titled as Chathru. Naveen has worked with acclaimed movie maker Radha Mohan as Assistant Director and is helming his first independent film with Kathir. The team had been hunting for the leading lady and finalised Srushti Dange to play the love interest for Kathir for the first time.

Touted to be an action thriller, this is the third film for the actor in Kollywood. The technical crew has Mahesh Muthusamy cranking the camera and actress Jayachitra’s son Amresh will be composing the tunes. In a recent interview, Kathir shared that the makers are planning to release the film for February in 2017.

He dons a cop role in this film which will be in lines of Karthi’s Naan Mahaan Alla. The shooting is currently progressing at places around Chennai, Hyderabad, Puducherry and Kerala. Apart from this film, Kathir also has another film Sigai in which he has sported a lady get up, a bold move for a rising actor.
