Naga Chaitanya's Premam is the sensation of this Pooja weekend in Tollywood. The Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster is said to have hit the blockbuster status once again with the biggest opening in the actor’s career in the overseas market. Released in US on October 6, the movie is said to garner around USD 0.5 million before October 9.
The first day collection was alone USD 70,000 totalling upto USD 2,09,000 till October 7. The US box office update upto Oct 7 on all of the Dussehra releases are reported here. When compared to the Telugu release Premam, the Tamil releases like Sivakarthikeyan's Remo had an average business with USD 64,000 and Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka with USD 4500.
The trilingual release Devi from Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah each have grossed USD 1600 in Tamil and USD 1100 in Telugu. The only Indian film standing out among all in terms of collection is MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which had got about USD 1.334 million in a week's time. The number of US screens are also more for this Hindi flick though when compared to other language films.
