Director Ramana who made his directorial debut with Thirumalai in 2003 with Ilayathalapathy saw a blockbuster success in his first film itself. Later on, his second film did not do the expected business and his last outing Aadhi in 2006 with Vijay was also a debacle. He had been taking a sabbatical due to throat cancer for many years.
Now after a gap of 10 years the director is back again with a powerful script and to everyone's surprise, he has roped in Arvind Swamy to play the main lead. The Siddharth Abhimanyu of Thani Oruvan has become the overnight sensation among the Kollywood directors and he has signed many movies after that. When interviewed further about the details of the film, the director revealed that he will be making an announcement in a week or two.
Manju Warrier who was acclaimed for her role in the Malayalam film How Old Are You (remade in Tamil as 36 Vayathinile with Jyothika) will be his lovelady. Through this flick, Manju makes her Kollywood debut. Titled as Vannam, the music would be scored by Ramesh Vinayakam.
