Akshara Haasan signs for Thala 57
Article posted on 04 August 2016Kamal Haasan's second daughter Akshara Haasan has made her acting debut at the age of 23 through the Bollywood film Shamitabh last year. Presently she is also working as Assistant Director along with her dad for his upcoming film Sabash Naidu which is being helmed by the actor himself.
She was also rumoured to play one of the three female leads in Thala 57, thereby making her Kollywood acting debut. The news has now been confirmed as the actress has signed the dotted line. Akshara will be seen as an Interpol Officer in this cop action thriller alongside Ajith. Apart from her, the cast also has Kajal Agarwal as the lovelady for the actor in the role of his homely wife.
As for Akshara's role, it is action-oriented and as a partner Interpol agent to Thala. Now that she is on board, the team is yet to finalise the third heroine. We also hear that the third lady will be seen making a cameo of sorts in a song or in important scenes. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the team is in Belgrade where they had commenced the shooting.
Nearly 70% of the shooting will be taking place at foreign locations and only a small portion will be shot in India. The story is heard as the protagonist investigating the murder through some clues at Europe which had actually happened in Tamil Nadu.
