Director A.R.Murugadoss has finished all the pending works for his upcoming Bollywood film Akira which will hit the screens on September 2. Following to it, his next bilingual signed with Mahesh Babu has started rolling with the team from July 29. A small pooja was done with the team before its launch.
Produced by Tagore Madhu, it is made in Tamil and Telugu which marks the Prince actor's straight debut to Kollywood. This untitled flick is the actor's 23rd movie and hence tentatively known as Mahesh 23. Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Mahesh. SJ Suryah will be seen as the baddie. The first schedule had a song shot at the Annapurna Studios at Hyderabad.
The movie is made in a budget of 90 crores and expected to give a lift for the hero after the debacle of Brahmotsavam. The technical team has Harris Jayaraj to compose the tunes while camera will be handled by Santhosh Sivan who makes his Tollywood debut. The rest of the film would be shot in Mumbai with a couple of songs abroad for this cop-action thriller.
