Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ with Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari is still in the casting process roping in the supporting cast members. Interestingly, for the director who keeps minimal dialogues in his film, he has brought RJ Balaji on board to play the actor’s sidekick. It was tweeted by the latter in his social media handle that it feels like a dream to be a part of the ace director’s film.
Being a radio jockey, he had got several chances in Kollywood movies to play as comedian making debut in Ethir Neechal in 2013 following many movies with Naanum Rowdy Thaan and Jil Jung Juk at present. He had even won the SIIMA Award for Best Comedian recently for his performance in Vijay Sethupathi-Nayanthara starrer.
The duo had also met and Mani Ratnam had narrated Balaji's role briefly to him. In an interview regarding this, the RJ shares that being a middle class boy, it was not even his dream, but something more than that and is really looking forward to the opportunity. The shooting for the film will be kickstarted from July 8 at Ooty for 40 days and the team has reached the location already.
