Nivin Pauly who made debut to Kollywood with Neram 3 years ago is going to give a reentry with a remake film. Ulidavaru Kandanthe was a 2014 Kannada crime thriller which was geared to be sent to the Cannes Film Festival. Nivin will be playing the male lead in its Tamil remake along with Shraddha Srinath as the leading lady who is also making her debut to Tamil cine industry through this film.
To be directed by Gautham Ramachandran, an associate of ace director Mysskin, the shooting had already commenced from June 10 at Tuticorin. Actor Natraj of Sathuranga Vettai fame is also sharing the screen space with Nivin in the first schedule. The technical crew has Pandi Kumar to handle the camera, Atul as editor and Ajneesh as music composer as retained from the original version.
The movie's plot runs around a journalist who uncovers the truth behind a murder as described from the perspective of different people. This plot was inspired from the 1950's Japanese cult film Rashomon. There are also unique features in the film like it is the first ever Kannada film to be shot entirely in sync sound technology.
