Manchu Lakshmi marks re-entry to Hollywood

Tollywood actor Mohan Babu’s only daughter Manchu Lakshmi has gone heights starting from television serials to Hollywood movies at present. She initially started her career in Tollywood but later moved on to Hollywood featuring in different roles including negative shaded ones.

Since 2009, she left a brief hiatus and remained in India acting few Telugu movies and even in Mani Ratnam’s Kadal. This year she is making her re-entry with an English film Basmati Blues directed by debut director Dan Baron. Her character name is Sita in this independent musical romantic comedy.

The story is about a scientist developing a genetically modified rice with her father and their journey to India to sell them to rural farmers. The movie has been made successfully and the post production works are at full swing. Manchu Lakshmi finished her dubbing works when she recently went to USA.

The shooting took place at Alappuzha, Kerala for few days with her. The movie also features Hollywood actors Brie Larson, Donald Sutherland and Utkarsh Ambudkar in the main leads. US Production House, AMBI Distributions have bought the International theatrical rights to release the film worldwide.
