Bejoy Nambiar

The popular 1988 hit by Mani Ratnam with Karthik and Prabhu in the lead roles is currently in talks for remaking in Hindi. At that period, it was a classic blockbuster with more than 200 days run at the box office. Bejoy Nambiar who last directed Wazir with Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan is presently scripting the story.

Bejoy was reported to be working on 2 scripts at the same time from January and yet there is no news on either of them. In a recent interview, he agreed that one of the script is a contemporary remake of this Mani Ratnam’s film. It is notable that Bejoy worked as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam previous to making his own venture.

Though he did not give any other details regarding who will be the two main leads or when it will run on floors, one thing is sure: it will be a story re-written for present-age. He is tight-lipped and refused to give answers whether top heroes would play share the screen space. He also said that any one of the 2 scripts might run on floors; suppose if things didnt materialise for the remake, he might proceed with the other.
