Joker

Director Raju Murugan who worked as an assistant with Lingusamy and made his directorial debut through Cuckoo is ready with his next. He has collaborated with Dream Warrior Pictures under producer S.R.Prakash Babu and S.R.Prabhu who had unveiled the title and the first look poster of their venture through his Twitter handle.

Named as ‘Joker’, the movie features many newcomers. Guru Somasundaram who played the teacher role in Jigarthanda is the main protagonist called as ‘Mannar Mannan’ working in a water company. While female leads Ramya and Gayathri are making their debut. Writer Chelladurai, Ramasamy and Bala Murugan are doing supporting roles.

Touted to be a political comedy, the film was extensively shot in the outskirts of Dharmapuri. The relevance between the title and the Mannar Mannan character is the humorous suspense of the film !!!

The first look also gives a glimpse of the male lead in an unusable lavatory. Some sources say that the movie will focus on the problems of modern India in a humourous manner. The crew consists of Sean Roldan of Mundasupatti fame to compose tunes and Chezhiyan of Paradesi & Tharai Thappattai fame for cinematography.

He had shot the whole film in a steadicam to give realistic look for the scenes. Lyrics are penned by Yugabharathi. The team already had the working title as Komaligal but came up with the English title and the whole story would be narrated through a 40-year old character.
