Sarbjit is an upcoming movie directed by Omung Kumar, the Mary Kom maker featuring Randeep Hooda in the titular role as Sarbjit Singh. This is the story of the real life Sarbjit, an Indian convict who died in a Pakistan jail out of inter-prisoners assault.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen playing the role of his sister as Dalbir Kaur who struggled to bring him back home. The first look poster of the film was recently unveiled by the actress along with the Union Minister for Road & Transport, Nitin Gadkari and BJP Minister Amit Shah in his residence.
It was a fine poster with the Jazbaa lady looking aged in salwars and spectacles. The producers of the film Vashu Bhagnani, Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Singh were also present at the event along with the actors Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar.
The Minister had lauded the team for having selected a sensitive and a patriotic subject that was unknown to most of the Indians. It will focus on the brother-sister relationship and will send a powerful message to the youth.
Slated to release on May 20, it is a political subject and hence the director has felt to unveil the poster with the political background.
