Thiagarajan, the yesteryear actor, director, producer and the father of actor Prashanth is trying hard to pull the strings together for better comeback for his son. During the audio launch function of Saahasam held at the Suryan FM station on September 18, he announced that he had bought the official rights for many super hit films of several languages. And he will remake them one by one with Prashanth in the main lead.
In an effort towards that, the Bollywood crime thriller Special 26 will be remade in Tamil by him with Prashanth taking up the role of Akshay Kumar. It will be directed by R.Madhesh who had once produced Prashanth’s movie Chocolate in 2001. The female lead in the Hindi version was Kajal but for the Tamil, they are yet to finalise the cast.
So Prashanth for the first time will bag the role of a CBI officer and the shooting is said to kickstart soon. The Telugu version of Special 26 will be made by Harish Shankar in which Ravi Teja reprises Akshay Kumar.
