The versatile film actor Kamal Haasan is the Chairman of Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and is taking efforts for the betterment of the workforce in the cine industry through it. He has decided to conduct a three days workshop on the Skills Development for the 35 Film Unions in November. The actor took it a privilege to announce it in the Global Skills Summit held at New Delhi on September 10.
The workshop is of the theme, ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ that will benefit 10,000 workforces currently active in the industry. 16 specialists and technicians of national and international fame will be providing training and prior skills acquired will be certified. This would be an added advantage to those who are already in the field and also for the freshers.
The Film Union has further announced three days holiday in the second week of November to foster the initiative. This will include mainly training the assistant directors, camera assistants, make up artists, music assistants, writers, lightman, art directors, audio and dubbing artists.
