Aishwarya Rajesh's upcoming movie, called Valaiyam, directed by debutant Mano Bharathi, started filming on Saturday. G Dilli Babu's Axess Film Factory is producing the film, which also marks the debut of actor Dev in a leading role.
The movie focuses on a female lead in an action-packed thriller. Aishwarya Rajesh portrays a village girl who travels to Chennai for an exam. While there, she witnesses a crime and faces consequences as a result. The story revolves around how she seeks help from her friend, a rookie cop, to overcome the situation. Dev will play the role of the buddy cop.
Chethan, Tamizh, Pradeep Rudra, Hareesh Peradi, and Suresh Menon complete the cast of Valaiyam. Mano mentions that they plan to shoot the film mostly in and around Chennai. He explains, "We only need to film a small part in a village outside the city. Also, we've scheduled the shoot for just 40 days."
Valaiyam is filmed by M Henry, who previously assisted Velraj. Bhoopathy, known for Oh My Kadavule, handles the editing, while Michael Britto, famous for Lift, provides the music. The creators aim to release the movie in the second half of this year.
