The makers of the upcoming heist comedy film "Japan," which happens to be actor Karthi's 25th project, unveiled its trailer on Saturday. This film, written and directed by Raju Murugan, promises a captivating storyline.
The trailer kicks off with a voiceover from Karthi's character, Japan, as he weaves a tale about a tiny fish in the vast ocean. This little fish's journey begins with a hole it dug for its mother. As it continues, it keeps digging more holes – one for a crab, one for a scorpion, one for a crocodile, and so on. Over time, it loses count of the holes it has dug, growing from a minnow into a massive whale.
Simultaneously, we catch glimpses of Japan's transformation from a lowly petty thief into a notorious robber. He orchestrates a daring heist, making off with a staggering Rs 200 crores worth of jewels that belong to a prominent politician. When law enforcement authorities close in, Japan finds himself cornered, and he must fight his way to freedom.
"Japan" is said to draw inspiration from the life of a real-life notorious thief who was involved in multiple high-profile heists in Tamil Nadu and Chennai.
