The producers of Paayum Puli, Vendhar Movies are under harassment by the Chengalpet based Rohini theatre owner in the issue of losses incurred by Lingaa. The theatre owner Panneerselvam has been claiming for a huge sum of compensation and has been threatening the production house.
It seems like only half of the promised settlement has reached the theatre owners from Rajinikanth and the film's producer Rockline Venkatesh. Those from North and South Arcot, Chengalpet, Trichy and Tirunelveli are yet to receive the compensation from the main distributor Vendhar Movies.
Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) has intruded into this issue and had indefinitely banned the release of any movies (Tamil or other languages) from September 4 in Tamil Nadu. Further from September 11, the already running movies will be ceased as well. This has affected indirectly the release of Paayum Puli.
Panneerselvam has been putting many obstacles to the release of Paayum Puli and unless he is given for the losses, TFPC stands against other movie releases. The Council has even approached Tamil Nadu Government to intervene and we hope that they sort it out soon This has been a shock to the Kollywood industry that a theatre owner forming a group and demanding a huge amount.
