During the ongoing San Diego Comic Con festival in the US, the creators of Project K, an upcoming Indian film with a tentative title, officially unveiled the film's new name as "Kalki 2898 AD." Alongside the announcement, they also treated the audience to an exciting first glimpse of the movie.
"Kalki 2898 AD" is a sci-fi film set in a dystopian far future, specifically in the year 2898 AD, where darkness has engulfed the world. The recently released glimpse offers a glimpse of the dire circumstances, showing people in distress, but without revealing the plot. The video portrays a futuristic era where the public is held captive by profound anguish and turmoil. Actor Prabhas emerges as a savior figure, instilling hope as he is expected to rescue them from their miseries.
Under the direction of Nag Ashwin, "Kalki 2898 AD" features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Pasupathy, Kamal Haasan, and more. Vyjayanthi Movies is producing the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on January 12, 2024.
