Mani Ratnam's second part of the directorial venture, Ponniyin Selvan, is still dominating the box office as it surpasses the 300 crores mark. The producers shared the news on their social media handles.
Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan, adapted the story from Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel for the movie. The film was released in two parts, with the first part hitting the screens in September 2022 and the second part being released on April 28. Both parts received positive reviews, and the first installment was a massive success, grossing 500 crores at the box office.
Ponniyin Selvan features a star-studded cast with Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles, while the supporting cast includes Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, and more.
Produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the movie's music is composed by AR Rahman. The post-theatrical rights for the film have been acquired by Prime Video.
