The 62nd filmfare awards sponsored by Britannia for the year 2015 was held at Chennai yesterday. It focussed on the South Indian films of the languages - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Singer Chinmayi and her husband Rahul Ravindran hosted the entire function.

✪ Best Music Director – Anirudh Ravichander for ‘Velaiyilla Pattathari’
✪ Best Lyricist – Na.Muthukumar for ‘Saivam’
✪ Best Debut Actress – Catherine Tresa for ‘Madras’
✪ Best Debut Actor – Dulquer Salmaan for ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’
✪ Best Choreographer – Shobi for ‘Kaththi’
The movie Kaaviyathalaivan was topped for 10 nominations namely the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Music, Best Lyrics, Best Playback Singer (Male) and Best Playback Singer (Female).
Apart from these, Ajith, Vijay and Karthi were also nominated for Best Actors, Amala Paul, Catherine Tresa, Samantha and Vedhika for Best Actress and ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’, ‘Madras’, ‘Mundasupatti’ and ‘Velaiyilla Pattathari’ for Best Film.
