Raveena Tandon’s hard-hitting performance makes this revenge thriller watchable
Review by: Bollywoodlife
Critic ReviewRating: 5.0 / 10
The film has its fair share of snags but what keeps the momentum going is the fact that you feel content whenever Raveena’s character succeeds in her mission. The film will take you through various emotions of discomfort, angst, outrage, cringe, satisfaction to plain meh. Despite its flaws and an uneven plot, watch the film for its compelling, hard-hitting performances and the fact that it creates a world where justice is served someway or the other.
Raveena shines in a shoddy revenge saga

A riveting combination of tough and tender, Raveena shines all the way. Her character doesn't talk much or let on the frenzy of her heavily burdened mind.
MAATR IS RELEVANT BUT MAKES YOU QUEASY
Review by: Times of India
Critic ReviewRating: 6.0 / 10
Raveena is sincere as the victim who sullies her hands to get justice. But, the amount of bloodshed, leaves you asking, what is worse. Are the images of rape gorier, or is the bloodshed of the perpetrators of the crime, grosser?
Raveena Tandon alone couldn’t save a weak storyline

Raveena alone couldn’t save a thin storyline, and Maatr is just another run-of-the-mill revenge saga.

Maatr doesn’t wow you because of the story’s repetitive nature. Thanks to Raveena Tandon’s balanced act, the film makes up for an average watch.
