A decent sports drama that could have been a little more impactful

Ritika Singh who is making her Tollywood debut steals the show yet again with an effective performance. For people who have not either watched the Hindi or the Tamil versions of Guru, the film could be a pleasant watch. There are a few high points in the story that could entice you. But there are a few places that are dragging. One feels, even the boxing scenes could have been shot better.

In Guru, whether you're inspired by one woman's journey to reach the top of the boxing world or not, it's a miracle that the film encloses plenty of positive changes that Telugu cinema needs. Guru gives you plenty of stuff to brood upon long after you watch the film. Venkatesh delivers a nuanced performance as a boxing coach, but it is Ritika Singh who lands a sucker punch in the end. A big thumbs up.

The intense drama, Ritika Singh’s performance, and racy boxing matches are huge assets. Guru will surely be liked by the overseas audience for its class taking but we need to see how the masses embrace it.

The film completely revolves around Boxing, and there won’t be any disturbances or the distractions. The emotional content of the film is a major highlight. All the emotions have fallen in the place in the right manner. The characterisations are interesting, and for every character, there is a realistic touch. The interval bang and climax sequences have come out well in the film. There are so many inspirational moments in this movie.
